Introducing a reimagined hybrid event experience

Last staged in 2019 before live events ground to a halt, Asian Private Banker is looking forward to reuniting in-person with our community of private bankers, IAM/EAMs and wealth managers for the industry’s most popular networking and idea gathering event. Whilst continued restrictions on travel and quarantine regulations mean that we will only be able to stage the Hong Kong leg of the Summit this year, non-Hong Kong attendees can still participate remotely through our virtual event platform which has been introduced for this year.

Market Outlook: Performance and Opportunities in 2022

Markets have spent much of this year climbing a wall of worry. Rarely has it seemed harder to look into the investment crystal ball – inflation pressures, rising bond yields, central bank tapering, energy shortages and supply chain disruption are combining to create a dense macro fog. Closer to home, China’s recent property turmoil and policy tightening is adding to the confusion. Against this backdrop, where are the opportunities in the year ahead and how should investors stay invested, particularly in the China market? William Russell, Global Head of Product Specialists Equity at Allianz Global Investors, offers his insights in this opening market overview.

APB Thought Leaders Plenary Panel Discussion: CEOs in Focus

Assets under management at private banks in Asia grew by nearly 15% in 2020 according to APB’s benchmark data set. Whilst the last 12 months for private banks and wealth managers in Asia Pacific have witnessed tremendous flux, they clearly represent outstanding opportunity. Rapid business and operational transformations, talent wars and technology races have upended an industry that covers the wealthiest investors in the world.

Against this backdrop, quarter on quarter flows in 2021 were robust and clients’ appetites for risk and yield undiminished. It appears pandemics don’t slow private banking, but they do demand innovation and agility to overachieve. So how do those who sit at the apex of Private Banking in Asia see the coming year for our industry? How can Asian businesses continue to innovate to retain and serve both clients and staff? Is there a positive black swan event on the horizon for 2022? Join leading private banking CEOs for a look into the year ahead at our opening plenary panel discussion.
